Presentation Title
Stock Hacks: Applying Information Leakage to Profitably Trade Stocks

Information Leakage is a security weakness where an application reveals sensitive data that can be exploited by an attacker. Sensitive data includes the architecture of the application, running services, internal company business practices, information about employees and data about the applications users. Regulated public stock markets require companies to report earnings on a quarterly and annual basis. For a large number of companies these earnings reports result in volatile movements in their stock price as the market reacts to the results and the expectations set out by analysts. In this paper we demonstrate how information leakage resulting from existing and new methods can be used to pre-determine the earnings results and other important metrics for public companies. With this information a trader is able to anticipate the movements and price of a stock and trade long or short positions in the public markets profitably.
