Mary Ann Blair is the Chief Information Security Officer at Carnegie Mellon University. Working with an outstanding team of information security and information technology professionals, she is responsible for identity and access management services, disaster recovery and business continuity services, and the university’s information security program encompassing security engineering, policy and compliance, training and awareness, and incident prevention, detection, and response. Prior to establishing the Information Security Office, Mary Ann served as Director of Administrative Computing at Carnegie Mellon.  Before joining Carnegie Mellon, she served as Director of Data Management at the University of Pittsburgh’s Epidemiology Data Center.

Mary Ann is active in EDUCAUSE and its partner programs. She has served in numerous capacities including: EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Security Task Force; Program Committee for the Annual and Security Professionals Conferences; and CUMREC Board of Directors. She holds a B.S. in Psychology/Philosophy and an M.S. in Information Science, both from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
